TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The following opportunities for job seekers in southern Arizona will be updated as we receive information from hiring employers or agencies.

The TUXON hiring fair: Dec. 5

The Tuxon, a modern boutique hotel, will be holding a job fair Thursday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are looking to fill a variety of positions including a front desk attendant, night auditor, room attendant, laundry attendant, house person, room inspector, housekeeping supervisor, chief engineer, maintenance attendant and security guard.

Applicants must bring their resumes for consideration. The hiring fair will take place at the Arizona Theatre Company in The Gallery Room located at 343 S. Scott Ave.

Marana Unified Job Fair: Dec 7

The Marana Unified School District will host a Job Fair for Support Staff and Substitute Positions on Saturday, Dec. 7.

This free event is open to the public from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the MUSD Early Learning and Resource Center, 7651 N Oldfather Rd., Marana. Applicants can bring resumes, complete applications, and participate in on-site interviews.

The Marana district is currently hiring support staff positions including Special Education Aides, Teacher Assistants, Extended Learning Opportunity Aides, Crossing Guards, as well as Certified & Support Substitutes.

McDonald’s recruits Alexa, Google Assistant in hiring efforts

McDonald’s has made it easy for users of Alexa and Google Assistant to begin the application process. Starting a job application can be as simple as saying, “Alexa, help me get a job at McDonald’s,” or, “OK Google, help me get a job at McDonald’s.”

The voice experience is available on Alexa and Google Assistant devices in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the U.K., and is expected to roll out to other countries in the coming months.

After opening McDonald’s Apply Thru, all users need to jump-start their application process is answer a few basic questions ranging from their name, job area of interest and location. Potential applicants will receive a short text message shortly thereafter with a link to continue their application process.

Amazon hires for Tucson Fulfillment Center: Ongoing

Amazon is now hiring for more than 1,500 full-time positions ahead of the launch of its more than 850,000 square-foot fulfillment center in Tucson. At the facility, Amazon employees will pick, pack and ship small items to customers like books, electronics or consumer goods. Associates will work alongside innovative technologies, including Amazon robotics that will be used on a daily basis to fulfill customer orders.
