UPDATE: Two children survive in deadly crash near Three Points
Two people were killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Three Points on Monday, Aug. 12.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A mother and her child have been confirmed deceased according to AZDPS after a fatal single-vehicle crash occurred southwest of Tucson on Monday, Aug. 12.

38-year-old Sabrina and 10-year-old Layton Coons passed away from their injuries after both were ejected from the vehicle. Neither were wearing a seat belt.

Sabrina’s 1-year-old daughter was also ejected and has been taken to the hospital with critical injuries after her car seat was not buckled in the vehicle.

The 2-year-old daughter, who was in the backseat at the time of the crash, has suffered minor injuries. According to AZDPS, her car seat was buckled correctly and she was not ejected from the vehicle.

The crash was reported at 8:43 a.m. on SR-86 near Milepost 154, just east of Three Points. The DPS says the Ford Explorer rolled over for an unknown reason.

Both lanes have reopened and the scene is clear.
