UPDATE: Police arrest 3 teens in connection to homicide near Benson Highway

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Tucson Police Department arrested three teenagers for the slaying of 25-year-old Marco A. Beltran Romero in October 2019. All three boys were booked on multiple charges including first-degree murder.

Police first arrested 17-year-old Raul Lizola on March 8 after he was located and interviewed by investigators, according to a news release from TPD. authorities arrested 16-year-old Fabian Jimenez a few days later on March 12, both boys were arrested and charged with armed robbery, aggravated robbery and first -degree murder.

Investigators found that there was a third suspect involved and arrested 17-year-old Juanito Prichard on an unrelated warrant on March 24, 2020. Prichard was also charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and first-degree murder.

All three boys are being held in the Pima County Adult Detention Complex, according to TPD.

Police identified 25-year-old Marco A. Beltran Romero on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, as the victim of a shooting near south Treat Avenue and south Camino Laguna Seca.

Officers and personnel with the Tucson Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle collision on the 5200 block of south Via Noche Buena shortly before 11 p.m. There, officers found a small, black passenger vehicle crashed into multiple block walls of several residences, according to a previous press release from TPD.

Officers and crews with Tucson fire found the driver of the vehicle, identified as Romero, dead at the scene with signs of gunshot trauma.
