TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A man with a long criminal history is facing murder charges in connection with a double fatal crash in Pima County earlier this year.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said Bruce Stocker Jr. was arrested late Thursday, Jan. 9, on charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated DUI and aggravated assault on an officer.

The PCSD said the 40-year-old Stocker was driving on Snyder Road, west of Houghton, on Jan. 4 when he crashed. Two passengers, 13-year-old Nalani Gerido and 26-year-old Paloma Gavino, died in the rollover accident.

Stocker was admitted to the hospital for injuries he suffered in the collision, but walked away from the facility Monday, Jan. 6.

Stocker is being held on a $500,000 bond.

According to the Arizona Department of Corrections, Stocker has a long criminal history that includes convictions in Pima County for:

  • Misconduct involving weapons (2008)
  • Aggravated DUI, criminal damage and endangerment (2006)
  • Aggravated assault (2001)
