10 Celebrity Couples Who Fell in Love On Set While Filming

These Hollywood A-Listers Managed to Find Their Soulmates While on the Job

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that celebrities – while objectively terrible at naming children – are more like you and me than you might think. They get remarried, fly solo, and even meet the love of their lives at work. Where else on earth do you find as much magic as the Hollywood film set?

Judging by these 10 work-related romances? Nowhere.

There’s something wholly underwhelming and oddly familiar about Megan Fox and MGK – as if you’ve already seen the “tattooed guy/pretty girl” love story before… and no, we're not talking about Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian.

The two cursed lovebirds met on the set of an indie flick called Midnight in the Switchgrass back in 2020 before the pandemic shut things down. After appearing in a music video for the rapper/singer’s song "Bloody Valentine,” Fox and Machine Gun — born Colson Baker — began hanging out, eventually declaring their love for one another before making it official across all social media platforms.

You don’t have to be an actor to fall in love with a co-star – case in point: Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli. The two met in 2013 on the set of Orange is the New Black where Morelli worked as a writer. After receiving reading script after script penned by her soon-to-wife, Wiley fell in love with the work Morelli poured into the show.

Though Morelli was actually married to a man at this point, the two eventually came together where their friendship blossomed into an all-out romance. The two got married in 2017.

You can probably guess the set of the TV show that brought Philly native Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson together. The two started secretly dating while filming season 2 of the hit show – you guessed it – It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, reportedly making McElhenney’s then-roommate (and current cast member) Glenn Howerton extremely jealous.

In 2008, the real life Mac and Dee got married, completing the circuit of one of the funniest couples on television since Lucy and Desi.

It’s hard to remember a time when these two weren’t in the news for some reason or another. And now look at them! Will and Jada met on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air where Jada auditioned for the part of Will’s girlfriend.

While she sadly did not get the part, it’s safe to say she did herself one better by landing the Will behind the Will and giving birth to two wonderful children that are making names for themselves in the biz all on their own.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton

Thinking of Stefani from her No Doubt days, it's a little strange thinking about Shelton planting his big ol’ country lips all over someone like the woman behind "Don't Speak," but… he’s doing something right, so we might as well take notes.

The two musicians met on set of the TV series The Voice before hitting it off in a romantic sense, divorcing their respective partners and getting together in the world’s oddest musically-inclined celebrity mashup since *profound sigh* Chipmunk Punk.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds

"I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern," Reynolds said in an interview with Harpers Bazaar. "We were friends and buddies, and then about a year and a half later, we actually went on a double date but we were dating separate people."

Reynolds goes on to say how the two worked hard to stay connected to one another, building a solid friendship in the process. In 2012, the two married in secret at the Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina and now have three daughters together: James, Inez, and Betty.

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell

One of the longest lasting couples in Hollywood, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel have been together for 38 years. First meeting on the set of a movie called The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1966, Russell and Hawn didn’t actually get together until they met for a second time in 1983 on the set of the film Swing Shift.

Now, almost four decades later, Hollywood’s golden pairing share four kids together from their respective previous marriages without ever having tied the knot themselves.

After meeting on the set of That 70's Show, where they played the extremely attractive – albeit volatile – Kelso and Jackie, Kutcher famously married Demi Moore for a short time before getting together with his former coworker back in 2012.

The two have two kids together, Wyatt Isabelle and Dimitri Portwood, and last year worked with Washington state’s Nocking Point Wines to release Quarantine Oregon Pinot Noir which raised more than $1 million for a number of nonprofits.

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling

Like so many before them, Gosling and Mendes’ relationship began as a friendship that bloomed into a family. After Gosling suggested Mendes for a role as his love interest in 2011's The Place Beyond the Pines, the two hit it off, spending time together as friends before the birth of their first daughter in 2014 squashed all rumors of a “platonic friendship.”

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie

Secrecy is something we see come up time and time again with these Hollywood couples – is it the incessant digging by reporters or the unending paparazzi? What gives?! Harington and Leslie followed suit by keeping their relationship secret for more than four years. After meeting on the set of a little indie project no one saw called Game of Thrones in 2012, the two began a whirlwind romance that remained under wraps until 2016.

"If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love," Harington told Vogue Italia. In 2018, Jon Snow married Ygritte, giving fans something they didn’t even know they wanted in the first place.
